Russian-German IRI Meeting on 22 March 2016

On 22 March, the German-Russian IRI community will come together at the NRC “Kurchatov Institute” in Moscow. This bilateral IRI meeting brings together all relevant stakeholders from scientific communities, funding agencies and politics around large scale research infrastructures in Germany and Russia.

On 22 March, the German-Russian IRI community will come together at the NRC “Kurchatov Institute” in Moscow. This bilateral IRI meeting brings together all relevant stakeholders from scientific communities, funding agencies and politics around large scale research infrastructures in Germany and Russia.
The agenda of the meeting covers many aspects of the recent IRI collaboration activities and will also address future topics: the ongoing joint research projects that are currently funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will be highlighted, the RACIRI Summer Schools 2015 and 2016 on “Advanced Materials design at X-ray and Neutron Facilities” (www.raciri.org) will be presented, an introduction into the European-Russian collaboration project CREMLIN (“Connecting Russian and European Measures for Large-scale Research Infrastructures”, www.cremlin.eu) will be given.
The main objective of the meeting is to discuss and identify current and future Russian-German collaboration trends in dedicated IRI research fields, such as photon science, research with neutrons, hadrons and nuclei, as well as particle physics. Moreover, another topic of the discussions will be exploring possibilities for future funding of new bilateral collaborative projects.
